MP April 23 Weather Updates: Heatwave Alert In Panna, Satna & 4 Others; Bhopal, Indore May Cross 43°C

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The temperatures in Madhya Pradesh are gradually rising. Cities like Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and Gwalior may see temperatures go beyond 43°C, while places like Khajuraho, Panna, Sidhi, and Naogaon could reach 45°C or more.

On April 23, a heatwave alert was issued for Niwari, Tikamgarh, Panna, Satna, Sidhi, and Singrauli. Other cities like Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and Gwalior will also experience intense heat.

What do meteorologists say?

According to IMD Bhopal’s senior scientists, the weather in the state is currently clear, which is increasing the intensity of the heat. Similar weather conditions are expected to continue for the next 5 to 6 days.

Due to a cyclonic circulation system in the Bay of Bengal, heatwave conditions may persist for 3 to 4 days towards the end of April.

The northwesterly winds are expected to keep the minimum temperature across the state is expected between 27°C and 30°C. Not just the days, but the nights will also be warm. 

In regions like Gwalior, Chambal, Sagar, and Rewa divisions, temperatures may rise to between 43°C and 45°C. Meanwhile, in other parts of the state including Indore, Ujjain, and Bhopal, the temperature is likely to hover between 41°C and 44°C.

Weather expected in next 2 days

On April 24, heatwaves are likely in Alirajpur, Barwani, Shivpuri, Datia, Bhind, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Panna, Satna, Sidhi, and Singrauli. Other cities will remain very hot.

For  April 25, there is a heatwave alert for Alirajpur, Barwani, Khargone, Khandwa, Shivpuri, Bhind, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Sidhi, and Singrauli.

Temperature records

On April 22, Khajuraho recorded the highest temperature at 44.4°C, followed closely by Ratlam at 44°C. Sidhi saw 43.4°C, and both Mandla and Naogaon recorded 43°C. Among major cities, Jabalpur was the hottest at 42°C, while Bhopal recorded 41.2°C, Indore 40.9°C, and both Gwalior and Ujjain saw 41.5°C.
