Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A shocking incident of stabbing came to light in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur over 'beedi,' as reported by police on Wednesday.

The matter pertains to Shaktinagar, Badanpur under the jurisdiction of Gadha police station. Here, a youth was stabbed to death by a group men. Also, the crime was captured in a CCTV footage.

According to sources, a resident of Badanpur, Abhay Rakeshia, was standing near his friend's house. Meanwhile, the bike-riding miscreant Amit Ben and his friend reached there and asked Abhay for a 'beedi'.

However, Abhay refused to hand over the beedi. Angered, the accused suddenly attacked him with a knife, injuring him severely. After committing the crime, the accused fled the spot.

Abhay sustained serious injuries after being attacked and fell on the ground. The eyewitnesses and locals informed the police, after which a team arrived at the scene and rushed Abhay to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical Hospital for treatment.

Following the incident, police identified all the accused, registered an FIR and swiftly arrested six people.

Family members of the victim revealed that the attackers were habitual troublemakers in the area.

All six accused reside in Ranji

According to police, the arrested accused have been identified as Shani Jangade (22) – Resident of Purani Basti, Jhanda Chowk, Ranji; Aman Kewat (20) – Resident of Manmohan Nagar, Bada Patthar; Ankit Giray (20) – Resident of Fakkar Baba Mandir; Anshul Malik (21) – Resident of Ganga Maiya Yadav Pan Bhandar; Govind Guru (18) – Resident of Raksha Nagar Colony, Durga Mandir, and Karan Giray (20) – Resident of Fakkar Baba Mandir.

Additional SP Suryakant Sharma confirmed the arrests and further assured that police are conducting a checking campaign at major intersections to curb the increasing number of stabbing incidents in the city.
