Morena (Madhya Pradesh): A youth was shot dead in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district on Friday night over unknown reasons. 

It is said, the accused, along with his accomplices, fired multiple bullets on the victim resulting in his immediate death. 

According to information, the victim has been identified as Dhruv Yadav, a farmer. On Friday night, while he was in Silayatha village of Morena district, a renowned miscreant of the area attacked him along with his friends. 

The accused was identified as Shyam Gogai. His accomplices are still to be identified. They fired multiple bullets at the victim Dhruv Yadav. He was then rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The murder is believed to be linked to an old dispute.

Angered locals stage protest 

Angered by the incident, locals blocked the National Highway. This led to a massive traffic jam extending 20 km. Protesters demanded the presence of SP Sameer Saurabh, but instead, District Panchayat CEO Kamlesh Bhargav arrived and assured them that their demands would be met. The protest ended around 2 am after assurances from officials.

The protesters demanded removal of civil line police station in-charge Darshan Lal Shukla, issuance of firearm licenses for local residents, immediate arrest of the accused and also demolition of the accused’s house.

Civil line police station in-charge Darshan Lal Shukla confirmed that multiple rounds were fired, resulting in one death. The police are actively searching for the accused.
