Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Reservation to the OBC is heating up politics in the state after its hearing in the Supreme Court. The BJP and the Congress are trying to take mileage over giving 27% reservation to the OBC.
After hearing the state government’s plea, there was a statement that the Supreme Court put the case on “Top of the Board Class.” It was also said that the Supreme Court had agreed with the state government’s plea.
In a statement, it was said that the efforts of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to give reservation to OBC became fruitful. The BJP leaders said Supreme Court’s decision to hear the case from September 23 was a victory of the government.

The Congress criticised the state government after the hearing in the Supreme Court. Former chief minister Kamal Nath said the issue revealed the BJP’s anti-OBC stand.
The SC took the state government to task. Nath said the Congress, during his tenure as chief minister, had given 27% reservation to the OBC in 2019. The Congress government led by Kamal Nath announced 27% reservation for the OBC in 2019 before the Lok Sabha election.
The court put a stay on the government’s decision. Afterwards, the government adopted the process for 87:13 formula for recruitment. According to the formula, OBC was given 14% reservation and 13% were held back.
The government went to the Supreme Court. The court issued an order for hearing of the case on regular basis from September 23. After the Supreme Court’s decision, it is clear that there will soon be a solution to the issue of reservation to the OBC.
