A woman minister in the state cabinet is feeling sad after the allegation of corruption made by a former legislator against her. After the incident, the minister is presenting her clarifications over the issue. The problem with the minister is that an officer of her department has ordered an inquiry into the case. Although the inquiry did not have any outcome, it has sullied her image. After expressing her pains over the matter, she went to Delhi to offer explanations to the central leadership. In Delhi, she also met a powerful leader and explained everything to him. The minister also complained about the former legislator. The former legislator has already hogged the media headlines by making such allegations against others. The leader, after hearing the woman minister, assured her that the party would strictly act against the former legislator. There are reports that the senior leader of the BJP has taken exception to the former legislator’s deed. Now, the woman minister looks happy.

Officers pulled up

A union minister’s increasing activities in the state have surprised many politicians, who are rooting out the reasons behind the minister’s activeness after a year of silence. The minister pulled up the officials after an issue about the tribal people cropped up. He dressed down the officers for certain cases related to his department. The officers received a tongue-lashing from the minister for the poor-quality seeds and pesticides given to the farmers. Afterwards, there is a video, in which the minister is seen keelhauling an officer regarding a farmer-related issue. The minister has written to the head of state about it. Afterwards, the minister’s humane side came out in another video in which he was seen sending an injured person to a hospital in his own vehicle. Such activities of the powerful leader have worried many politicians of the party. People in the corridors of power say that the changes in the organisation have energised the minister.

Organisation’s entry

The BJP organisation has pitched in a dispute between a former IAS officer and present chairman of a much-discussed establishment and a principal secretary (PS) of a department. A senior leader of the BJP organisation has begun to interfere in the bickering between them. The politician, supporting the former IAS officer, has spoken to the higher-ups in the party organisation about the issue. The politician has told the government about the chairman’s association with the party and advised the higher-ups to know the ex-IAS officer’s side on the matter. The ex-IAS officer has become more powerful after the politician’s interference. Similarly, the PS is also trying to find a political umbrella to protect him. The whispers emerging from the windows of the power house indicate that the PS has fallen back on a politician who is holding a constitutional post. The PS, close to the politician, narrated the entire story to the latter. Although the politician is not taking much interest in it, he has spoken to the higher-ups to end the spat between the ex-IAS officer and the PS. On the other hand, some people are adding fuel to the fire, wishing the dispute to continue.

Vaastu believer

It does not matter whether someone is an officer or a politician: just as he takes over any position, he changes his seating arrangements. The newly appointed state BJP president is just doing it these days. Immediately after taking over as state BJP chief, he decided to make several changes in the meeting hall. There are reports that the politician believes in Vaastu. So, he is carrying out changes according to Vaastu. People in the corridors of power say that he is in favour of making some major changes in his chamber and the entire office. He recently visited his new office to see whether everything was going on according to his wishes. The president wants the proposed changes to be carried out soon so that he may start holding meetings. On the other hand, it is also true that the BJP is unwilling to leave the old office, although the party has constructed a new building. The party will decide how the place will be used. Efforts are underway to allot a government bungalow to the newly elected party president. There are reports that he plans to hold meetings at different places.

Toothless tiger!

The anger of a politician, once a former minister and now a chairman of a commission, has deepened against the government. Since his demands he put up before the officers were set aside, he was annoyed and wrote to the head of state about it. He sought an office for the commission and staff for him. He, however, did not mention his real demand in the letter – he wants a government bungalow in the state capital. He has represented his case to politicians at different levels, but the government is not keen on allotting a house to this leader. The government is waiting for his tenure in office to end. Against this backdrop, his anger against the government is deepening with each passing day; however, this leader does not have much political strength left. His grip over the voters of a particular caste is no more as strong as it was earlier. There are reports that the chairman of the commission is getting ready to fight the next Vidhan Sabha election.

Beating drum

The occasional contretemps between the two senior politicians holding two important positions in the municipal corporation has turned into bitterness. And it came to light after the state capital received felicitation from the central government for attaining the second position in the country in the cleanliness survey. All the officials of the municipal corporation, including its head and a corporator, went to Delhi to participate in the facilitation ceremony presided over by the President. But all of them gave a side-eye to the other politician, who resorted to beating drums to express his joy. The bitter relationship between these two politicians has cropped up at the civic body’s meetings. Each of them is a supporter of two BJP stalwarts. Some smart-mouthed people in the corridors of power call their relationship a Saas-Bahu syndrome.
