Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh is currently experiencing changing weather due to three cyclonic circulations and two trough lines.
On Saturday, several districts including Gwalior and Mandla saw rain. The same weather pattern is likely to continue on Sunday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for thunderstorms, rainfall, and strong winds across the state.

Rain, thunder, and strong winds (40–50 km/h) expected across most parts of Madhya Pradesh, including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Narmadapuram, Rewa, Shahdol, Gwalior, Chambal, Jabalpur, and Sagar divisions.
May 12:
Rain, thunder, and storms may continue in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Ujjain, and Gwalior regions. However, clear weather is possible in Satna, Rewa, Mauganj, Sidhi, and Singrauli.

Light rain, thunder, and stormy conditions may be seen in Bhopal, Gwalior, Sheopur, Morena, Bhind, Shivpuri, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna, Rewa, Mauganj, Sidhi, Singrauli, Umaria, Shahdol, Anuppur, Mandla, Balaghat, Seoni, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Raisen, Narmadapuram, Betul, Rajgarh, Sehore, Harda, Khandwa, Burhanpur, and Khargone.

Thunderstorms likely in Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Ashoknagar, Pandhurna, Chhindwara, Seoni, and Balaghat.
Senior weather scientist Dr. Divya E. Surendran said some active weather systems are currently affecting the state. Light rain, thunder, and windy weather are expected to continue until May 14. After that, the heat may increase again.
According to the IMD, districts in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Narmadapuram, Rewa, Shahdol, Gwalior, Chambal, Jabalpur, and Sagar divisions could see rain, thunderstorms, and winds blowing at 40–50 km/h.
On Saturday, light to moderate rain brought some relief from the heat. Gwalior received light showers in the evening, while Mandla had heavy rain around 3 PM. Bhopal remained cloudy throughout the day. Similar weather was seen in Indore, Ujjain, and nearby districts.
Despite the rain, temperatures in many places crossed 40°C again after a few days of relief. Khajuraho and Damoh were the hottest places. Gwalior recorded 39.1°C, Bhopal 37.2°C, Indore 35.5°C, Ujjain 36.5°C, and Jabalpur 37.8°C. Other districts like Rewa, Sagar, Satna, Umaria, Sidhi, Khandwa, and Mandla also saw temperatures above 39°C. Pachmarhi, the only hill station, recorded the lowest at 30.2°C, and Raisen was at 34°C.
