Sheopur (Madhya Pradesh): Heavy rains since Tuesday morning have worsened the situation in Vijaypur and surrounding areas. Continuous downpour from around 4 am has caused rivers and streams to overflow.

Rising water level in Kuwari river is alarming. The water level of Kuwari river in Agra suddenly rose and a bridge connecting Vijaypur and Agra has completely submerged, breaking the connectivity on this route. People are not able to travel even for important work.

The administration has strictly instructed people not to go near the river and drains. Here, the streets in many localities including the Mandi area of ​​​​Vijaypur are flooded with water.

According to villagers, crossing the bridge has become a difficult ordeal and posses threat to life. Meanwhile, the administration has strictly instructed people not to go near the river and drains. The drain water has come on the roads, making it difficult for people to come out of their homes.

Officials are keeping an eye on the situation. Although there is no news of any major accident so far, but life has become disrupted due to intense rain.

The Meteorological Department has predicted more heavy rain in the next 24 hours, due to which the situation may worsen. The administration has issued an alert in flood-prone areas and asked the relief teams to be ready.

Vijaypur SDM Abhishek Mishra said that in view of the rain, the Mandi area which is filled with water has been evacuated and police force, Patwari and Kotwar have been deployed at possible places.
