Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The state capital has witnessed tumult in the past two days. I-T sleuths are carrying out raids on some builders. On the other hand, the Special Police Establishment (SPE) carried out raids on the residential premises of a former constable of the transport department.
At a time when discussions about these raids were going on, 52kg gold and Rs 11 crore were suddenly found in a car. In these raids, purchasing of land worth crores of rupees came to light. The gold and cash found in the car are connected to the transport department.
It is clear that the cash and gold, unearthed during the raids, are, somehow, linked with the government coffers. Poet Dushyant Kumar wrote: “Ho gayee peer parvat si pighalna chahiye, is Himalaya se koi Ganga nikalni chahiye.” These lines aptly portray the current situation prevailing in the state.
Now, the Mohan Yadav-led government has to come up with some strong measures to deal with corruption. Cases of corruption are daily reported. It is evident that such cases are taking place because of the involvement of government officers and employees.
The CAG report has also highlighted irregularities in the government projects. The positions of Chief Secretary (CS) and Director General of Police (DGP) are very important. The present CS Anurag Jain and DGP Kailash Makwana are untainted. To check corruption, these two officers should be given a free hand.
There must be some decisions to show that the amount sanctioned for government projects should not go astray. Those who are involved in misusing government money should be dealt a severe blow. The government has decided to close check posts of the transport department.
Yadav has made it clear that he believes in taking tough decisions. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently called Yadav ‘Ladla Mukhya Mantri’. From the statement, it is clear that the central leadership likes Yadav. Now, the time has come to show that PM’s Ladla Mukhya Mantri provides a clean administration on the pattern of Modi.
