Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Aviation department has completed work on preparing guidelines for its new aviation policy. The guidelines are expected to be issued within a day or two and will serve as a roadmap for investors interested in aviation sector projects in Madhya Pradesh.
Officials said guidelines will outline how investors can avail benefits under the policy, including land allocation and other support from the state government.
“The guidelines will make things clear to investors. By studying them, they can plan their projects accordingly,” said an officer of the Aviation Department. He said that copies of the guidelines will soon be sent to all potential investors to assist in project planning.
The policy was first introduced during the Global Investors Summit (GIS), following which several aviation companies showed interest in expanding in the state.
One major proposal came from Germany-based INAVIA Aviation, which plans to invest Rs 2,000 crore to set up a Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) facility near Raja Bhoj Airport in Bhopal. The MRO unit will include component manufacturing, CND checks and engine repair services. This will be the first such facility in Madhya Pradesh and is expected to give a significant boost to state's aviation infrastructure.
