This was revealed during a review meeting of the food and civil supplies department chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday.

Earlier, farmers could book a slot to sell their produce by April 12 but now the date has been extended and they can do so till April 30. Yadav has directed to complete the wheat procurement process by May 5.

Food and civil supplies minister Govind Singh Rajput informed the CM that to check irregularities in storage at godowns, the departments will put QR code on sacks and also in all the warehouses. To keep a close eye on food stock, one control centre is also being set up, said Rajput.

Stating that the government is purchasing wheat at the highest rate of Rs 2600 per quintal across the state, the CM said that Madhya Pradesh is ahead of Haryana and Punjab in procurement. The payment to farmers against their produce should be done at the earliest, he added.

Yadav directed to complete the e-KYC of all types of ration card holders and also stressed on ensuring laying of domestic use gas pipelines at the earliest.

The officers informed him that food grains are being provided to more than 1.31 crores beneficiaries under the eligibility category of twenty nine types.
