Sheopur (Madhya Pradesh): A concerning development came to light from Kuno National Park, one of the four cub of Jwala has been moved out of the forest and kept under a special enclosure of the park, under doctor's supervision after it's health deteriorated due to intense heat on Tuesday.
According to forest officials, the cub's health deteriorated due to scorching heat and other natural reasons. A team of experienced veterinarians is constantly monitoring the cub's health and they confirmed the cub is improving.
Jwala and her four cubs were released in the open forest on February 21. Initially, all of them were roaming freely in the forest, but the recently intense heat weakened one of the cubs. Sources revealed, that during the time of rescue one of the cub seemed extremely weak, which made the officials intervene and rescue the cub.
In a separate incident, one of Jwala's cub separated from the feline family from Veerpur area. According to eyewitnesses, Jwala was seen with her three cubs and while crossing a highway Jwala along with her two cubs made it to the other side but the third one was left behind.
However, this is a normal phenomena in the wild, big cats own the ability to locate their young offspring with the help of their acute sense of smell. “It’s expected that Jwala will soon track down her kid and reunite with the lost cub,” a forest department official stated.
