Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address at the Maha Sammelanon Saturday, all preparations have been completed at Jamboree Maidan by administration and civic body to accommodate over two lakh women expected to attend the event.
Keeping weather conditions in mind, Public Works Department (PWD) has installed five temporary drainage systems, including three around the main stage, to prevent waterlogging in case of rain. The stage has been fully decorated and carpets have been laid across the main dome and its front areas.
To ensure safety and crowd control, thousands of barricades have been set up around the venue and along all approaching roads. Large cutouts of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar adorn venue’s entrances, symbolising cultural reverence.
The administration has installed over three lakh chairs and erected four large water-resistant domes to shield attendees from the sun or rain. Decoration work inside the domes was completed by Friday evening. Moreover, over 50 temporary electric poles will provide power for fans, coolers, lights, LED screens and audio systems.
Essential amenities in place
The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has ensured availability of essential amenities, including 5 lakh liters of drinking water and 1,200 temporary toilets, 623 of which are located within the main ground.
Final rehearsal done
SDM Archna Rawat Sharma added that a final rehearsal of departmental coordination has been done, and clear instructions have been issued to all concerned officials.
“All preparations for sanitation, water supply and parking have been completed,” said BMC Executive Engineer RK Trivedi.
