‘I’m Simple Party Worker,’ Says Hemant Khandelwal As He Takes Charge Of State BJP |

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The newly elected BJP state president, Hemant Khandelwal, hit the ground running on Wednesday and spelt out his priorities. Calling his elevation a responsibility, he said every party worker will get their due, and, at the same time, anyone differing from the party line will be in trouble. Khandelwal was making his first address as state unit chief at the event where he was declared the new president, succeeding V.D. Sharma.

He challenged the Congress to manage a ward-level election in the same manner as the BJP held the poll for its state unit chief.

Speaking about his strategy to lead the party, Khandelwal said that every worker would be assigned responsibilities according to their capabilities. He pointed out that earlier, there was the belief that the BJP could not complete a five-year term, but Shivraj Singh Chouhan dispelled it by doing so much for the public that the party now wins successive elections.

Praising the Mohan Yadav government, he said it is scripting a new definition of industrialisation, creating jobs, and how to take the state forward. The state government is working to accelerate the wheel of development, he said.

He said, “The BJP runs in my veins,” asserting that his family has been waging a war against the Congress for the past 100 years. Elaborating, he said his grandfather became the Nagar Palika president in 1930 by defeating the Congress. Then, his father was a four-time MP, said the BJP chief. Only good values, discipline, and the BJP are the topics of discussion in his family. He added that he doesn’t have any specific quality and is just a simple party worker.

Later, addressing the press, he said that the party was doing well, scaling new heights, and he would only ensure that the BJP continues to soar.

CM on Congress

Hitting out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, CM Mohan Yadav said that those who killed the Constitution choose to walk around with a copy of it, assuming they are above the law.

Chouhan all praises for new chief

Former CM and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan called Hemant Khandelwal a hard worker. Whenever there was any problem in Narmadapuram, Khandelwal stepped up as the troubleshooter, he said.

Transfer of power

Outgoing BJP state president V.D. Sharma handed over the party flag to his successor, Hemant Khandelwal, as a symbolic transfer of power. On this occasion, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, ministers, and a large number of party leaders and workers were present.
