A heartbreaking video of a mother bear trying to save her injured cub has surfaced on social media from Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district, which left the netizens emotional and furious at the same time.
In the video, the mother bear can be seen panicking and trying to move her cub to the roadside, with another one on her back.
The video has drawn strong reactions, with many condemning the carelessness towards animals and calling for safer driving.
According to information, the incident unfolded on the Gohparu-Jaitpur when a speeding vehicle hit a bear cub.
Seeing her baby hurt, the mother bear kept trying to help it. She stayed by her injured cub for nearly an hour as it laid half-conscious on the road, unable to move.
With another cub clinging to her back, the bear dragged the cub to the roadside to protect it from further injuries, and refused to leave its side.
The emotional moment was captured on camera, showing the mother’s love and pain.
Cub did not survive
Later, forest officials arrived and moved the mother bear and her surviving cub to safety. However, sadly, the injured cub could not be saved.
The incident has raised concerns about speeding vehicles in forest areas and the dangers they pose to wildlife.
