Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A female doctor was brutally attacked inside her house in Jabalpur’s Gadhha area on Wednesday.
The incident took place in Shri Krishna Campus colony and has left the local community in shock.
The victim, identified as Dr. Neelam Singh, is posted in the Medicine Department of the Medical College. According to police, the accused, 25-year-old Mukul Kahar, who used to supply water in the area, had approached Dr. Singh a day earlier asking for work.
On the day of the incident, Mukul entered her house wearing a burqa, pretending to be a woman, with the intention of committing theft. When Dr. Neelam spotted him inside her home and confronted him, Mukul panicked and attacked her with a knife. He stabbed her seven to eight times, leaving her seriously injured.
Hearing her screams, local residents rushed to her aid. They caught Mukul red-handed, overpowered him, and handed him over to the police after beating him up. A blood-stained knife was also recovered from the scene.
Dr. Neelam Singh is currently undergoing treatment at Medical College Hospital. The attack has created panic in the area and raised serious concerns about safety.
Police are investigating the whole matter and questioning the accused to understand the full motive. This incident highlights how even familiar faces can turn dangerous, and the importance of staying alert and secure at all times.
