Elderly Woman Dies After Illegally Built Neighbour’s Balcony Wall Collapses In Jabalpur

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): An elderly woman died after an illegally constructed wall of a neighbour’s balcony collapsed in Jabalpur on Monday.

Deceased woman and other family members were present in the during the incident.

Deceased woman has been identified as Draupadi bai, who hailed from Choudhary Mohalla of Belbag police station area of ​​Jabalpur. Draupadi bai used to live with her son Gendalal and other family members.

The collapsed wall was constructed by Vijay Chaudhary, Sumit Chaudhary and Jackie Chaudhary in their balcony which was opposed during the construction by other neighbours but they did not listen to anyone.

On the night of the incident, the wall suddenly collapsed, causing severe injuries to Draupadi Bai and another female family member. Draupadi Bai succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

The family members allege that the construction of the house was being done illegally and despite protesting several times, instead of stopping the illegal construction, they continued it, which causes this painful accident.

Locals claim the construction was not only illegal but dangerously unstable. Repeated complaints and protests were ignored by the owners, which ultimately led to the fatal collapse. Residents are demanding strict legal action against those responsible to prevent such tragedies in the future.
