Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A man died and his daughter was critically injured after two drunk bikers crashed head-on into their bike in Jabalpur on Tuesday.
The woman is a Community Health Officer posted at a government hospital in Singhuli and was on her way to duty.
The accident occurred in the Majhgawan police station area of Madhya Pradesh.
According to information, the accident happened when the man, Ramesh Vishwakarma, was dropping his daughter to the hospital.
Suddenly, two bikes coming from the opposite direction hit them with full force. Ramesh died on the spot due to the impact.
His daughter, who is a Community Health Officer (CHO) posted at the government hospital in Singhuli, was badly injured and rushed to a nearby hospital.
She was later referred to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical Hospital in Jabalpur, where she is undergoing treatment. Her condition is said to be very serious.
Ramesh’s daughter was on her way to duty when the accident took place. The two youths on the other bikes were reportedly drunk and also sustained injuries.
Locals said the accident could have been avoided if the bikers had not been under the influence of alcohol.
Police are investigating the case further, and efforts are being made to identify if any legal action can be taken against the drunk bikers.
Locals have demanded strict action and regular checks to prevent such incidents caused by drunk driving.
