Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Vehicle lifter Yuvraj Kewat who collapsed at the district court and later died at the hospital was not only addicted to drugs but was also suffering from TB and other serious ailments, revealed police probe.

The short PM report has also indicated towards multiple organ dysfunctions, police officials said. On Thursday, autopsy of his body was performed by a panel of doctors amidst heavy security at the mortuary. Yuvraj’s kin created a ruckus while demanding action against the cops who arrested him.

They handed over a memorandum in this regard to Additional DCP Shalini Dixit who assured them of an impartial probe. Additional DCP said that a judicial probe is underway and action will be taken on the basis of the report. Yuvraj’s mother Meena said she wanted to feed her son but she was not allowed by the cops.

‘My son was suffering from diseases and was addicted to alcohol. He was admitted for around 40 days at the TB hospital and was discharged recently. I told the cops about his condition but they ignored my pleas. They made him sit at the court for four hours following which he collapsed and died’, she alleged.
