Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In a bid to frame their opponents in a case of attempt to murder, three persons cooked up a story of firing on them. They shot at one of their aides in his leg and admitted him to Hamidia Hospital while naming their opponents during police investigation. However, joint teams of Ratibadh police and crime branch exposed the conspiracy and arrested the trio on Sunday.

An FIR has been registered against them for trying to give false information and other relevant sections, police said. DCP, crime, Akhil Patel said Vikas Tiwari of Vidisha informed Ratibadh police on March 14 that his friend Shailendra Singh Rajput (30) was shot at in his right leg while they were at Kerwa Dam.

Shailendra was admitted to Hamidia Hospital by Vikas and his friend Sanjay Namdev. However, police officials were suspicious of their claims and launched a thorough investigation. Police teams scanned footages of 1,000 cameras but presence of assailants at the place could not be established.
