Bhopal: Seamless Rail-To-Metro Travel Soon Via 70m Sky Walk; Launch Expected By September-End

It will connect Rani Kamlapati Station with Metro station

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bhopal Metro Railway Corporation’s Sky Walk’s remaining work will be completed shortly. It is a part of multi-model integration.

It will connect Rani Kamlapati Railway Station with Metro station. The passengers coming from Rani Kamlapati will use it to reach till Metro station. They will not need to travel the road to reach Metro station. The length of the Sky Walk is 70 metres.

Its main frame erection work has been done and its remaining work like overhead sheet to protect passengers from rain and sun rays would be completed shortly. In the meantime, as the government has announced to roll out Metro’s commercial operation in October, henceforth the remaining work of the Metro is being completed in two shifts i.e day and night.

Separate teams of officials and labour are working in day and night shifts so that all projects could be completed in a time bound manner by September.

Eight stations for priority Metro corridor

The priority Metro corridor of Bhopal comprises of eight stations stretched for 7.5 km. All these Metro stations are elevated and belong to Orange Line.

To check Metro train related things, the team of Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) is expected to reach Bhopal from Lucknow this month. Following its visit, the team of Commissioner of Metro Safety (CMS) will come to check the entire Metro project. After its approval, Metro’s commercial operation will be allowed.
