Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Key accused of Bhopal Love Jihad and blackmail case, Farhan Khan, tried to escape police custody just to get shot in his leg on Friday night.
According to the police, Farhan who currently is under the Ashoka Garden Police Station, was being taken to Sehore district to track his absconding associate, Abrar. The police vehicle had to halt near at Farhan’s request to access the restroom.
Accused tried to snatch the officer's service gun
As the cops got down to monitor Farhan, the accused pounced on the officer in an attempt to snatch his service pistol. A tussle broke out between the officers and the accused under the night's darkness, when a shot was fired. The bullet struck Farhan in the leg, preventing his movement and attempt to escape.
Accused is under treatment
The accused was rushed to to Bhopal’s Hamidia Hospital, where he is under treatment and police protection. According to reports the accused is out of danger and is stable now. The two police offers sustained minor injuries too and are under medical observation.
Adding to already pressed serious charges the cops also charged Farhan on the allegation of attempting an escape from custody.

This entire matter is linked to the disturbing case of Bhopal's prestigious Technocrats Institute of Technology (TIT) College which has gripped the state police since April 2022.
Farhan is alleged to be the mastermind behind a well-organized gang that operated to lure college going girls into relationships under false pretext, and then sexually exploiting and blackmailing them.
Farhan Ali, who is a former student of the college, along with his associates Sahil, Saad, Ali Khan, Abrar, Nabeel and Hamid (who committed suicide in December 2024) used to trap the girl students in a planned manner just to exploit them physically.
