Committee has found some anomalies at the college regarding safety of female students

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The prime accused in rape and blackmail case, Farhan and his aides Ali and Nabeel were produced before court and sent to jail by Ashoka Garden police after their custody remand ended on Tuesday.

Farhan who had received a gunshot injury in his leg in a bid to snatch the service pistol of a cop and escape was discharged by doctors at Hamidia Hospital on Monday night.

In-charge Ashoka Garden police station Hemant Srivastava said that Farhan and Sahil were taken to custody remand on May 2 while Nabeel and Ali were already in police remand.

Police officials said that Sahil’s two-day custody remand has now been taken up by Jehangirabad police to question him in a case registered against him at Jehnagirabad police station.

Meanwhile, the three-member committee of National Commission for Women (NCW) returned to Delhi on Tuesday. Police officials said that the committee recorded statements of all victims.

Moreover, committee members visited the private college where rape and blackmailing accused had studied. The committee has given suggestions to police to take further action in the case and investigate into the funding of the accused and involvement of a wider network in the case.

Police officials said that the committee has found some anomalies at the college regarding safety of female students and have given suggestion to the concerned authorities. Administration and Nagar Nigam officials have demolished a portion of Club 90 on Monday evening. District Magistrate Kaushalendra Vikram Singh on Tuesday said irregularities have been found in GST, billing, licence and functioning of the club and a team has been formed for further investigation.

Prime accused discharged from hospital

Prime accused Farhan was discharged by doctors on Monday night, only two days after he received a bullet injury in his leg. Police said that the bullet has pierced through the flesh and did not fracture the bone.

In such a case doctors did not have to operate the injury but it may take over a month for a complete recovery. Till then Farhan may not be able to walk properly and will receive treatment in jail, police added.
