Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bhopal Railway Division has earned significant revenue from sundry (miscellaneous) items in the first two months of the current financial year 2025-26 – April and May 2025.
The division received a total sundry originating revenue of Rs 25.04 crore during this period, which is about 282 percent more than the Rs 6.55 crore earned in the same period last year.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria said that this significant increase is the result of planned efforts made towards the commercial use of railway assets and resources. A continuous increase in this revenue is being ensured by coordinating with various departments at the divisional level.
"Sundry revenue" includes the income received by the Railways that is not from fare or freight.

This includes the commercial use of railway land, revenue from private siding, license fees for land given to the forest and defense departments, transportation cost of pantry cars, auction of unusable and damaged goods, scrap sales, residential building rent, rest house and retiring room income, parking fees in station premises, fees received from the catering department, advertising revenue, and income from other non-fare items.
This performance in the field of sundry revenue reflects the commercial efficiency and strategic thinking of the division.
