BHOPAL: The Bhopal police are yet to submit a report on the alleged attack on a police team by a tea stall owner and his family when they tried to enforce night curfew in April.

The family had alleged that the policemen entered their house and assaulted them, including women.

An inquiry was ordered into the incident and the police have not submitted a report on the incident yet.

According to the police, the tea stall was open at night when curfew was imposed in April. When a team of cops went to the shop to enforce the curfew, the owner manhandled them. The women members of his family hurled stones and utensils at the team.

On the other hand, the family alleged that cops had entered their house and beaten them up. The cops also vandalised the shop and their house. The women and girls in the house had alleged that they were beaten up by the cops.

The police department had ordered an inquiry into the incident but even after over two and a half months, inquiry report† is not submitted.

City superintendent of police (CSP) Kotwali Bittu Sharma was assigned the task of recording statements of the victims and submit a report on the matter.

When contacted CSP Bittu Sharma said she could not complete the inquiry as it was lockdown for two months in the state capital and she got busy with other assignments including enforcing the curfew. Sharma said she has almost completed the inquiry report and very soon it will be submitted.
