Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bhopal municipal corporation (BMC) is launching a special cleanliness campaign from May 21 after state government order. It will continue till May 30. A ‘special cleanliness campaign’ will be run in all 85 wards. As per BMC order, each ward will be divided into 6 parts and the drive will be in two shifts.
In the first shift from 7:00 am to 11:00 am, intensive cleaning of main roads, crossings, central verge etc. of the ward will be done and collection of garbage from each house of the ward will also be ensured and arrangement for mandatory lifting of garbage heaps by 11:30 am will be ensured.
In the afternoon shift from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, special cleaning of a chosen area and other important places of each ward will be done. In each ward, in addition to intensive cleaning of main roads, intersections, dividers, commercial areas etc. will also be cleaned in the morning shift every day.

Besides, cleaning of all statues, intersections and hawker corners, removal of banners, posters etc. from electric poles, walls, public places will be undertaken and action will be initiated under property defacement rules.
Along with this, special cleanliness of commercial areas, market area, hawkers’ corner, all public toilets and urinals located in the wards, cleaning of all parks/gardens, sewage treatment plant, water source, transfer station, bus stop, railway station, bus stand, auto stand etc. will be ensured.
