Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Arrested for drug smuggling, DJ Yaseen aka Mintu was also into illegal firearms trade. This fact came to light after recovery of a double barrel country made pistol from his aide Jagjeet Singh Bais aka Jagga.
Jagga, 31, of Kolar area, who was arrested on Saturday is a property dealer. Police recovered a .22 bore double-barrel country-made pistol from the pocket of his jeans. Jagjeet confessed that he had purchased the weapon from Yaseen Ahmad for Rs 5,000. Additionally, a small packet containing marijuana was also recovered from him.
Additional DCP (crime) Shailendra Singh Chauhan said the recovery of the weapon revealed that the gang was also dealing in illegal firearms. Yaseen would be questioned to trace the source of the pistol, he added.
Meanwhile, on Sunday a police team took Yaseen to his residence at Budhwara and seized some electronic gadgets and tablets etc.
It is worth mentioning that besides obscene videos of girls, police have also found videos and photographs in Yaseen’s mobile in which he was seen posing with sophisticated illegal firearms.
Police officials said during interrogation, he revealed that he trapped girls who visited pubs and lounges. It also came to the fore that Yaseen organized private parties in a flat in Shyamla Hills area. Till now police have identified around half a dozen girls and are contacting them for counselling.
Another suspect being questioned
Police officials said that another suspect in the case Ansh Chawla was being questioned regarding his involvement in the drug syndicate. Chawla was rounded up after one of the four mobiles seized from Yaseen revealed some chats with him. Police said that Yaseen was using four mobiles with different phone numbers.
Threats to media persons
Yaseen issued threats to media persons as he was being escorted to his home in Budhwara area on Sunday afternoon. When some media persons asked him questions regarding the case, Yaseen threatened them that they would face the consequences later.
Small but deadly firearm
The double barrel .22 calibre pistol recovered from Jagga is smaller than a palm and can be concealed easily in clothes. The .22 small calibre cartridges are usually used in shooting sports. Police sources said that the pistol may have been brought from Bihar as it is usually made in Munger, infamous for illegal firearms.
Hidden camera used to record obscene videos
During the investigation, it has come to fore that accused had a sinister modus operandi. They would first lure girls into drug addiction and once they were under the influence and vulnerable, the accused would secretly record obscene videos through hidden cameras.
These explicit clips were then used as tools of blackmail. The victims were threatened and manipulated with the fear of their videos being leaked.
