Bhopal: Girl writes exam standing as her parents fail to pay fees

BHOPAL: A girl of class 9 had to write her final exam standing as her parents were unable to pay fees. She was humiliated as she was the only one who took exam standing amidst other students who were sitting on chairs. The girl studying in Saraswati Cooed Higher Secondary School in Shahjahanabad area wrote two papers standing. As the news went viral on Friday, CM Kamal Nath took cognizance of the news and said that strict action should be taken against the school authorities.

DEO Dharmendra Sharma said that a team of officials visited the school and found the school at fault. Father admitted that he could not pay the fees in time as his business was facing crisis. The student said that she was the only one to write science and Sanskrit exam standing in the whole class. It was very humiliating as the whole class made her fun, reported the student.

DEO Sharma said that there are clear instructions from school education department that no student should be humiliated or embarrassed if fees was not paid by ant parent. “Action will be taken against the school and erring authorities under JJ Act. Not only this, affiliation of the school too could be cancelled if school is unable to provide a satisfactory reply,” said Sharma.

Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that such kind of action by the school will not be tolerated at any cost. Strict action will be taken against the school. This is against child rights and non-humanitarian. All schools already have been instructed that no child should suffer if one is unable to pay fees.
