Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Madhya Pradesh Culture Department has resumed its ‘Gamak’ series online to infuse positivity in society amid the gloom of the Covid-19 pandemic, says Culture and Tourism minister Usha Thakur.

It will also boost the morale of the artistes to provide some income to them, the minister adds.

She made the above statement on Sunday in her speech to mark the eighth anniversary of the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum. The speech also inaugurated the streaming of the activities of different academies under the department online on various social media platforms. The decision has been taken in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The online event will stream from Monday at 7 pm and can be seen on the YouTube channel of the Museum http://bit.ly/culturempYT and its Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/culturempbpl/live/.

Tribal artistes showcase works at Shalaka

On the occasion of the eighth anniversary celebrations, activities of various arts disciplines organised by the museum in the past were shown under retrospective. Besides, an online painting exhibition was organised under its monthly exhibition ‘Shalaka’. Tribal artistes showcased their works depicting various aspects of nature and life associated with it. The Bhil and Gond artistes included Bhuri Bai, Durga Bai Vyam, Ram Singh Urveti, Ramesh Tekam, Teki Shyam, Santoshi Tekam, Narmada Prasad Tekam, Dev Nankusia Shyam, Lado Bai, Kumudini Shyam, Rajendra Kumar Shyam, Narmada Prasad Tekam, Prasad Singh Kushram and Soni Vyama. The work ‘Umri ka Vriksha’ painted by Padmashri Bhil artist Bhuri Bai is on display. The exhibition will be available for viewing on the website of the culture department for one month.
