Bhopal: Forest department team attacked in Berasia

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Over a dozen men attacked a team of forest department personnel on Sunday when they went to vacate land that had been encroached upon in Berasia. Nine forest guards were injured in the attack, the police said.

According to the SHO, Nazeerabad, BP Singh, the incident occurred at Bhikhuni village where 9 acres were encroached upon by accused Shyam Singh Yadav. The police said the accused and his associates attacked the forest team with sticks and cudgels. The incident occurred around 3 pm.

Later, a police patrol reached the spot, but the accused had fled by then. Singh said all the accused had been booked under relevant sections of the IPC.
