Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Singh on Wednesday directed the officials of all five districts under the Bhopal division to activate flood control rooms and appoint separate nodal officers for swift disaster response before the monsoon.

In a review meeting held via video conference, the commissioner emphasized early preparations to handle potential floods and heavy rainfall.

Singh emphasized that any release of dam water must be planned and communicated to ensure safety and avoid sudden flooding. He instructed all departments - revenue, police, municipal bodies, home guard, PWD, and disaster management to finalize and submit their preparedness plans without delay.

The water resources department has been asked to ensure hourly rain data collection and real-time water level updates during the monsoon.
