ASI Suspended After Video Shows Him Dragging, Beating Woman By Hair During Vehicle Check In MP's Panna

The cop was promptly suspended from his duties

Panna (Madhya Pradesh): A video of an Assistant Sub-Inspector publicly beating, dragging a woman, pulling her hair in the middle of a road in Panna was surfaced on social media on Tuesday.

According to the victim, Ganga Bai, she was simply passing by when the officer stopped the woman and started hitting her without any reason.

While addressing the media she said “Routine checking was going on, and I was just passing by. Suddenly, Inspector came and started beating me. They gave me no reason,” Ganga Bai said.

After the incident came to light, there was a stir in the police department. SP Panna immediately took cognizance of the entire matter and suspended the said ASI with immediate effect. Along with this, orders have been given to investigate other policemen as well. In addition, the SP has ordered an inquiry into the conduct of other policemen present at the scene.

This incident raises serious concerns about public safety and police protocols. The district administration has assured a thorough investigation in the matter. All the needful actions against the ASI will be taken by the officials.
