Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Four died and several others were injured after a speeding car lost control and ran over a group of devotees walking along the Agra-Mumbai National Highway in Gwalior during the early hours of Wednesday.
According to reports, at around 1:00am, a speeding car lost control and overturned on the side of the highway after crushing the procession of Kanwariyas walking on the road side.
Three Kanwariyas died on the spot in the fatal accident, while one injured died in hospital. The people in the car are also reported to be injured.

The incident unfolded near Sheetla Mata Mandir gate on Agra Mumbai National Highway. The deceased have been identified as Puran Banjara, resident of Sidna Ka Chak Simaria Ghatigaon, Ramesh Banjara, Dinesh Banjara, resident of Simaria Ghatigaon and Dharmendra alias Chhotu, resident of Ghatigaon.
All of them were reportedly going to Ghatigaon with Kanwar from Bhadavna, where on Wednesday, Mahadev was to be anointed with holy Ganga water filled in this Kanwar.
As soon as the police received information about the incident , police from Kampu police station, Janakganj, Jhansi Road, Madhoganj police station rushed to the spot.
Understanding the seriousness of the matter, the police immediately rushed the injured to the trauma center of JAH. Doctors have confirmed the death of three Kanwariyas in the hospital, while half a dozen are reported to be injured.
Police force deployed on the stretch
After the accident, chaos erupted in the entire stretch, due to which the force of half a dozen police stations of the city has been deployed there. After the deceased and injured were identified, their relatives gathered at the spot.
Tire burst caused the fatal accident
Meanwhile, authorities are suspecting a tire burst caused the car to veer off the road, strike the Kanwariyas and overturn. Airbag in the car saved the occupants sitting inside the car.
