Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Four people were severely injured after a speeding scorpio hits e-rickshaw, then collides with scooty in Gwalior on Tuesday. A youth's hand was critically injured, which had to be amputated.
The accident took place at Surya Namaskar Tiraha in Gola Ka Mandir police station area.
According to police, the incident occurred when the Scorpio (MP07 ZP-1544) first struck an e-rickshaw (MP07 ZR-5442) from behind, then collided with a scooty (MP07 ZE-6761) carrying three youths Bhanu Kotia, Gaurav Verma, and Subodh Kushwaha. The impact threw the riders onto the road.
As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and immediately sent the injured to the hospital. The police have registered a case and seized the Scorpio and taken the driver into custody. Investigation of the case is underway.

Case registered on the complaint of the victim
According to police report, Rajkumar Kushwaha, a resident of Siddheshwar Nagar, lodged a report in the police station in which he stated that he was returning home from Jhalkari Bai Park with his friends Gaurav Verma and Bhanu Kotia on his friend Bhanu Kotia's scooty. Bhanu was driving the scooty and Gaurav was sitting behind.
As soon as they reached a little ahead of Ramaya Hotel, the driver of a speeding Scorpio first hit the e-rickshaw (MP07 ZR-5442) running behind, then hit their scooter as well. Due to this, Bhanu Kotia and Gaurav Verma fell on the road.
Subodh suffered serious injuries to his left hand in the accident, while Bhanu Kotia suffered head, hand and leg injuries. Gaurav Verma's left hand was so badly injured that it had to be amputated.

Auto driver's death suspected
The e-rickshaw driver is also suspected to have died in the accident, though police have not yet confirmed this.
Local people caught the accused driver
Eyewitnesses said the accused driver attempted to escape, but was caught by locals and handed over to the police. The Scorpio and its driver are now in custody.
