Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Four short films, based on women, work & livelihood, were screened on Saturday, the second day of three-day OBR Travelling Film Festival - Bhopal edition at AICUF Ashram near Shahpura Lake in the city.

The films included Love in the Garden of Consent, Dreams on Wheels, Limitless Boundaries and Whose Job Is It Anyway. Jagori Grameen, One Billion Rising (OBR) India, Kriti Film Club, Gauravi and ActionAid Association had jointly organised the event.

Programme Officer at Gauravi One Stop Centre, Soumya Saxena, said, “70 participants including teenagers, women took part on the second day of the fest.”

‘Love in the Garden of Consent’ was set in a fantasy world of moonlight and flowers. This video depicts different contexts in which consent operates differently in relationships whether gay, heterosexual, lesbian, polyamorous, casual, long- term.

Dreams on Wheels by Vedika Kruti talks about the saga of one of India's most infamous rural and backward landscapes governed by patriarchy, diktats of khaps.

Limitless Boundaries talks about women's labour participation rates decreasing across the world. The choice to be a cab or e-rickshaw driver, carpenter, a painter, a plumber, a bike mechanic or mobile repair mechanic is not easy, especially since these are previously male dominated occupations.

And yet, when 15 women across eight Indian states break these barriers and choose non-traditional livelihoods, their stories need to be heard. Produced by NTLN, Aanchal Kapur and Richa Kapoor are creative directors of the film.

Whose Job Is It Anyway, produced by Breakthrough India, is about women who are burdened with endless household chores and are called ‘super humans’, a title that doesn’t exist.
