Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A 24-year-old woman hanged herself to death after her boyfriend refused to marry her in Gwalior on Tuesday.
The incident happened on May 16. Now, police have registered a case against the boyfriend Chetan Rajak, his father Ashok Rajak, and mother Geeta Rajak for abetment to suicide.

The woman named Nandini Prajapati hanged herself to death at her home in Janakganj’s Masjid Wali Gali, after her boyfriend suddenly refused to marry her.
As per the police, Nandini and Chetan were in a relationship since 2020 and had planned to get married. But in April 2025, Chetan told her that his parents had fixed his marriage with someone else and he could no longer marry her. This left Nandini in deep mental stress.
When she asked him for a reason, Chetan’s parents allegedly insulted and threatened her. Feeling helpless and heartbroken, Nandini went into depression.

On May 16, Nandini’s friend tried calling her several times, but there was no response. Worried, the friend went to her home and informed her family.
They found the door of her room locked from inside. When they looked through the window, they saw her hanging. The door was broken open, and police were called. Her body was taken for investigation.
Three days later, the family found a suicide note in her notebook.

In the note, Nandini blamed Chetan and his parents for her death. The note has been given to police as evidence.
Police also checked her call records and found that she had called Chetan 16 to 17 times before dying, which shows she was trying to reach him and get answers.
Janakganj police have registered a case against all three. They are currently on the run, and police are trying to find them.
