Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A tragic road accident was reported on Bhopal's Airport Road on Sunday afternoon, which led to the death of a 17-year-old boy, the police said.
According to information, a speeding Scorpio car suddenly climbed over the divider near Data Colony, flipped over, and landed on the other side of the road, around 1 pm.
The 17-year-old boy driving the car died on the spot, while his two friends were injured. The car also hit a loading auto, injuring the driver.
According to Koh-e-Fiza Police, the boy who died has been identified as Danish, son of Zaheer Khan.
He lived in the Housing Board Colony in Karond. Danish had gone to a roadside eatery on Parvalia Road with his friends. While returning, near Gulmohar Garden, the car lost control and hit the divider.
Injured boys yet to be identified
The vehicle first hit cement flower pots on the divider, which caused it to overturn and fall onto the opposite lane. At the same time, it collided with a loading auto coming from the opposite direction. The impact was so severe that Danish died instantly.
People nearby rushed to the spot and informed the police and ambulance. Two passengers were trapped inside the car. It took nearly an hour to rescue them. One of the boys was stuck between the front seat and dashboard, and had to be pulled out by breaking the door.
Police said that while Danish has been identified, the identities of the two injured boys are still unknown. Both were taken to Hamidia Hospital. One of them is in critical condition. One of the injured revealed that the accident happened while they were returning from the dhaba.
The police have filed a report and started an investigation. They are also trying to find out who gave the car to the underage boy and in whose name the car is registered.
