Morena (Madhya Pradesh): A 16-year-old boy from Morena was allegedly kidnapped after he left for school on Monday.
His family, on Wednesday, received a shocking video call on Instagram from an unknown account. On the call, the kidnapper claimed to have the boy in his custody and demanded ₹30 lakh as ransom.
According to information, the incident took place in Amarpura village in Morena district's Ambah area, he was kidnapped on July 28, after he left home for school and didn’t return.
The boy, identified as Bhupendra Sharma, is a Class 11 student. His family filed a missing person report when he did not come back, and police began an investigation.
The case took a shocking turn when Bhupendra’s brother-in-law, Piyush Sharma, received a video call from an unknown Instagram user.
The caller claimed that Bhupendra was in their custody for the last two days and demanded ₹30 lakh as ransom. They also threatened to kill the boy if the police were informed.
The kidnappers also sent a photo of Bhupendra with his hands tied and a cloth wrapped around his head, adding to the family's fear and worry.
Police Action
Taking the matter seriously, police are now working with the cyber cell to trace the Instagram account and track the location of the call. CCTV footage from nearby villages and the school route is also being checked.
Police have assured the family that they are doing everything to safely bring Bhupendra back.
The incident has created tension in the village, and the boy’s parents and relatives are in deep distress, hoping for his safe return.
