VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. (VECV), a joint venture of Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility within its Industry 4.0-compliant Bhopal plant. The company also marked the first deliveries of the Eicher Pro X small truck to key logistics firms in India. This milestone comes after the truck’s debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
The facility was officially opened by Volvo Group President and CEO Martin Lundstedt, alongside Eicher Motors Chairman and VECV Board Member Siddhartha Lal, reinforcing the company's commitment to advancing commercial vehicle manufacturing in India. Vehicles assembled by an all-women final assembly team at the new facility were handed over to key players in India’s evolving logistics sector.
Martin Lundstedt, President & CEO of Volvo Group, commented on the occasion, stating, "Each time I visit India, I am truly amazed by the rapid pace of development, including the transformation towards sustainable and modern logistics and public transport.
