Skoda has launched the Kylaq in India at a starting price of Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom), entering the highly competitive subcompact SUV segment. Available in four trims—Classic, Signature, Signature Plus, and Prestige—the Kylaq will take on rivals such as the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, and Renault Kiger. The company will announce the variant-wise pricing on December 2, 2024, alongside the opening of bookings. Deliveries for the SUV are set to begin on January 27, 2025.

Skoda has introduced the Kylaq compact SUV in India, debuting its Modern Solid design language in the market. At the front, the SUV features a bold upright butterfly grille flanked by slim LED daytime running lights, while the main headlights are positioned lower for a layered look. Enhancing its rugged appeal, the bumper integrates a central air vent and a silver skid plate.

At the rear, the Kylaq adopts design cues from the larger Kushaq, with square taillights connected by a black trim strip, a cladded bumper, and a skid plate, emphasizing its durable yet stylish design.

Premium trims come with a 10-inch touchscreen, a two-spoke steering wheel, and vertically placed air vents. Features like power-adjustable and ventilated front seats, a sunroof, wireless charging, and a digital driver display enhance its appeal. With dimensions of 3,995 mm in length, 1,783 mm in width, and 1,619 mm in height, the SUV is city-friendly, offering a 2,566 mm wheelbase, 189 mm ground clearance, and a practical 446-litre boot.

Powering the Kylaq is a 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a standard 6-speed manual transmission or an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic, promising a balance of performance and efficiency to suit diverse driving needs.
