The news was confirmed by his son, Toshiro Suzuki, the company’s current president and CEO. Suzuki played a pivotal role in the company’s growth, serving as its chairman for 43 years from 1978 to 2021. Even after retiring at 91, he continued to guide the company as a senior advisor, leaving a lasting impact on the global automotive industry.

“Maruti Suzuki India Limited expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Mr. Osamu Suzuki, Senior Advisor of Suzuki Motor Corporation and Director & Honorary Chairman of Maruti Suzuki India Limited.
