New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki introduced its first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), the e-Vitara, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Built on the all-new HEARTECT-e platform, the e-Vitara is designed exclusively for electric vehicles, blending advanced performance with safety and premium features.

The e-Vitara is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor paired with two battery options: a 49kWh variant and a 61kWh variant, delivering ranges exceeding 500 km on a single charge. The SUV boasts bold styling with R18 aerodynamic alloy wheels, LED projector headlamps, and a futuristic front fascia. Inside, the e-Vitara offers a digital cockpit with a twin-deck floating console, a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat, and a premium sound system by Infinity.

The electric powertrain, featuring a 3-in-1 system integrating the motor, inverter, and transmission, ensures optimal efficiency. A sophisticated thermal management system supports performance in extreme conditions, from -30°C to 60°C.

Safety features include seven airbags, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), and a robust structural design with high-tensile steel and advanced battery protection.

India to be the global manufacturer

India has been established as the global manufacturing hub, with production slated to begin at the Gujarat plant following an investment of over ₹2,100 crore. The e-Vitara will be exported to more than 100 countries, including Europe and Japan. It also features Maruti Suzuki’s "e for me" eco-solutions, including smart home chargers, DC fast-charging at dealerships, and a dedicated app for seamless connectivity.
