Kia will unveil its third SUV for India, the Syros, on December 19, with a launch expected in early 2025. The new model is designed to compete in the competitive SUV market, offering modern styling, advanced technology, and solid performance. Following the success of the Seltos and Sonet, the Syros is aimed at appealing to a wider range of SUV buyers, combining practicality with a contemporary edge.

The Kia Syros features a striking design with vertically positioned headlights that include three projector units and LED daytime running lights along the edges. The vehicle's bold profile is highlighted by flared fenders at the front and rear, along with a sharply defined bonnet line. At the rear, a wraparound glasshouse creates a floating roof effect, and L-shaped lighting elements are placed on the sides of the rear windshield. Spy shots also suggest the Syros will have split tail lamps, connected by a secondary cluster on the lower bumper, further accentuating its distinctive look.

The Kia Syros is expected to offer engine options similar to the Sonet, including a 1.2-litre petrol engine with 82bhp, a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 118bhp, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine with 114bhp. Transmission options are likely to include a five-speed manual, six-speed manual, six-speed AMT, and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Exact powertrain specifications are yet to be confirmed, but the SUV is expected to offer a variety of choices for different driving preferences.

The Kia Syros is expected to offer a range of advanced features, including a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, paired with a digital instrument cluster. It will also come with ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, and a layered dashboard design. A panoramic sunroof and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) have also been teased. For safety, the Syros will include six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, and traction control, along with convenience features like wireless smartphone charging and rear AC vents.

The Kia Syros will compete with several rivals in the compact SUV segment, including the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Toyota Taisor, and the Kia Sonet.
