Kia Sonet Reaches New Heights with Over 1 Lakh Sales in 2024

Kia has achieved a remarkable milestone with its New Sonet, crossing 1 lakh sales in just 11 months since its launch in January 2024. Priced from Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the compact SUV has become a popular choice among buyers, consistently selling nearly 10,000 units every month. With its modern features and competitive pricing, the New Sonet continues to strengthen Kia’s position in the compact SUV segment.

New Kia Sonet’s diverse lineup of 22 variants with six powertrain options has successfully appealed to a wide range of buyers. Gasoline engines dominate customer preference, accounting for 76% of sales, while the remaining 24% opted for the 1.5L diesel variants. Automatic and intelligent manual transmissions have gained significant traction, contributing to 34% of total sales. Notably, variants with sunroofs have proven highly popular, making up 79% of overall sales, reflecting the growing demand for premium features in the compact SUV segment.

New Kia Sonet stands out in its segment with 15 standard safety features, 10 Level 1 ADAS features, and over 70 connected car features, prioritizing both safety and convenience. It offers the lowest maintenance cost in its class, being 16% cheaper for petrol variants and 14% for diesel models compared to segment averages. Buyers can also choose from a wide range of customization options, including five interior color themes, eight monotone, two dual-tone, and one matte finish exterior color, ensuring the Sonet caters to diverse preferences.
