Hyundai is set to launch the Creta EV on January 17 at the Bharat Mobility Expo. With production scheduled to start by late 2024, Hyundai aims to roll out 24,000 units annually. The electric Creta is expected to be priced between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom), targeting a growing EV market.

It will build on the success of the ICE Creta, which starts at Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). The Hyundai Creta EV will compete with rivals such as the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara.

Hyundai Creta EV is expected to feature a familiar design, closely resembling its ICE counterpart, with similar headlight and taillight setups. Notable exterior changes include a closed-off grille, updated bumpers, and aerodynamic 17-inch alloy wheels for better efficiency. Inside the cabin, the Creta EV will sport a twin-screen layout for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster, enhanced with updated software and added features. While retaining physical controls for ease of use, the HVAC controls will be sourced from the Hyundai Alcazar.

Additional highlights include a redesigned center console, a new drive selector, and a three-spoke steering wheel. On the safety front, the Creta EV is expected to offer six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), ISOFIX mounts, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
