Nowruz 2025: 7 Must-Visit Parsi Fire Temples To Explore In Mumbai

Parsi fire temples, or Agyari, are sacred places of worship for Zoroastrians, who venerate fire as a symbol of the divine. On the occasion of Nowruz (the first day of the Iranian New Year), visit some of the famous temples in Mumbai, which are mentioned in the following slides:

Maneckji Seth Agiary is the second-oldest Zoroastrian fire temple, situated in Nariman Point.

The Sodawaterwala Parsi Fire Temple, also known as the Sodawaterwala Agiary, is another Zoroastrian temple situated in Marine Lines. Entry is restricted to members of the Zoroastrian community.

The N. M. Petit Fasli Agiary is a unique Art Deco-style fire temple in Churchgate, Mumbai. It was built in 1939 for Nasserwanji Maneckji Petit by Gregson, Batley & King.

The Anjuman Parsi Fire Temple is located on Princess Street in Mumbai. It is a significant Zoroastrian fire temple, which is religious and culturally important for the Parsi community in India.

The Wadia Fire Temple, also known as Wadiaji Atash Behram, is a significant Zoroastrian fire temple in the Masjid Bunder area.

The Dadiseth Atash Behram is Mumbai's oldest fire temple (Atash Behram) and the first Kadmi Atash Behram. It was consecrated in 1783, and it is situated in Fanaswadi, Dhobi Talao.

Behram Baug Parsi Agiary is another temple to visit in Jogeshwari West. It was established by Seth Banaji Limji, a prosperous Parsi businessman, in 1709.
