Here are ways to remove extra spice from your food
Stir in a spoonful of yogurt or a dash of cream to mellow down fiery curries, soups, and sauces. Milk-based products like yogurt, cream, or coconut milk help neutralise spice levels
Sugar, honey, or even a splash of fruit juice can counteract excessive spice. A pinch of sugar in spicy dishes like chili or spicy pasta can balance the heat without altering the dish's flavor too much
If your dish is too spicy, try adding more of the base ingredients like rice, vegetables, or broth. This dilutes the spice concentration while keeping the original flavors intact
Lemon juice, vinegar, or tomatoes can cut through the spice and bring balance to the dish. A few drops of lime juice work wonders in overly spicy salsas, soups, and stir-fries
Potatoes, rice, bread, or pasta absorb excess spice effectively. Tossing a peeled potato into a spicy curry and removing it before serving can help reduce heat levels
