But just like us, your beloved Tulsi plant needs extra care during the hot summer months. Here are 5 summer care tips to keep your Tulsi plant healthy, lush, and thriving all season long:

Give It Partial Sunlight: While Tulsi loves sunlight, harsh midday sun during summer can scorch its leaves. Place your plant where it gets morning sunlight (4–6 hours) and light shade in the afternoon

Water Regularly But Carefully: Tulsi needs more water in summer, but overwatering can cause root rot. Water your plant early in the morning or late evening, and ensure the topsoil dries slightly before the next watering

Pinch & Prune Frequently: Regular pruning encourages bushy growth and prevents the plant from becoming leggy. Pinch off the flower buds before they bloom to keep the plant focused on leaf production. Trim yellow or dry leaves to keep it fresh

Use Nutrient-Rich Soil: Summer can exhaust the soil of nutrients. Add organic compost or cow dung manure once every 2–3 weeks to replenish the soil. This will keep your Tulsi plant strong and resistant to summer stress

Watch Out for Pests: With summer comes the risk of pest infestations like aphids or whiteflies. Keep an eye on the underside of leaves. Use a neem oil spray or a mild soap-water solution once a week to keep bugs at bay
