Pakistan Uses Old Videos Of Satyapal Malik And Rahul Gandhi To Spread Fake Propaganda In International Media Amid Escalating Tensions

New Delhi: Amid escalating tensions after the Indian Armed Forces targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) to avenge the April 22 Pulwama terror attack, Islamabad has left with no other option but to spread fake propaganda against New Delhi. During a recent press briefing, DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry showed footage of Rahul Gandhi and former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik to the international media to falsely accuse the Indian government of conducting the Pahalgam attack and escalating tensions.

Lt Gen Chaudhary invited the international media and played the videos in which Malik could be heard holding the Narendra Modi government responsible for the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, in which 40 CRPF personnel lost their lives. After the Pulwama attack, India conducted airstrikes in Pakistan's Balakot. Pakistan used these videos to allege that the Pahalgam terror attack was also conducted by the Modi government itself.

"India itself carried out the attack in Pulwama for its own political gain and after that it blamed Pakistan for it so that it could win the elections by taking action against Pakistan," the Pakistan DG ISPR told international media.

On the intervening night of May 6 and 7, the Indian Armed Forces targeted terror camps in Pakistan. After these precision strikes, Pakistan attempted to target Indian cities and military installations using drones and missiles. The Indian air defence thwarted these attempts, and no collateral damage was reported from the Indian side.

In retaliation, India also launched strikes on major Pakistani cities, including Lahore, Rawalpindi and Karachi. The air defence system in Lahore was completely damaged.

On the intervening night of May 9 and 10, Pakistan launched a fresh drone attack at 26 locations along the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan. These locations include Baramulla, Srinagar, Avantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Ferozpur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Lalgarh Jatta, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhuj, Kuarbet and Lakhi Nala.

In retaliation, India struck four airbases in Pakistan, including Nur Khan in Rawalpindi.
