He was also holding a placard with a picture of Indian Air Force Group Captain Abhinandan Varthaman in his hand. Notably, Group Captain Varthaman, then Wing Commander, had mistakenly landed at the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) in February 2019 after he shot down Pakistan's F-16 with his Mig 21 Bison in a dogfight. He was later released by Pakistan within two days after the Indian government mounted pressure on Islamabad.

Reactions:
After the video went viral, netizens criticised the shameful act by Pakistan's defence Attache. "What a sick disgusting man! Never seen this kind crazy, violent behavior from an army (defense) Attache," political analyst and venture capitalist Tenseen Poonawalla said as quoted by Money Control.
Other Netizens' reactions:
"Pakistan is a factory of terror and the consulates it has opened in every country in the name of embassy are actually branches to conduct terror activities. It will take time for the world to understand this," an X user wrote.
"The throat-slitting gesture is a stark reminder of the lack of civility among Pakistan's military and diplomatic figures. This isn’t just an isolated act, it mirrors the oppressive tactics used against peaceful protesters in Balochistan, where enforced disappearances and violence are rampant. No wonder Balochistan is boiling with anger and unrest," another user commented.
Notably, tensions escalated between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, in which 27 tourists and one local pony guide were killed by five to six terrorists. Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) offshoot The Resistance Front (TRF) claimed responsibility for the attack. In response, India announced five-point sanctions against Pakistan, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty 1960.
