Tel Aviv: Tensions escalated in the Middle East after three empty buses exploded simultaneously in Israel's Tel Aviv on Thursday. Explosive devices were also found on at least two others. The Israeli Police called it a "suspected terror attack". Meanwhile, no injuries have been reported.

The development came amid the ongoing ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian militant group, Hamas, aiming to stop the war in Gaza. Both sides have reportedly witnessed seven rounds of hostage exchanges until now.

The explosions occurred on Thursday night in buses parked in lots in Bat Yam, a southern suburb of Tel Aviv. Visuals of the explosions also surfaced online. The visuals showed that buses were completely engulfed by flames after the explosion.

Visuals From The Spot:

Two other explosives were found on a bus in Holon and on the outskirts of Tel Aviv. These explosives were neutralised before they exploded. Public transportation across the country was temporarily halted as the Transportation Ministry instructed bus drivers and train operators to stop vehicles and conduct security checks.

Following bombings in the buses, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to start a massive operation in the West Bank against terrorist hubs, according to his office.

The IDF said it is investigating Thursday evening's bus bombings in Bat Yam and Holon jointly with the Shin Bet security agency and Israel Police.

Meanwhile, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has ordered the military to escalate raids in refugee camps in the occupied West Bank following a series of bus explosions. In light of the serious attempted attacks in the Gush Dan (central) area by Palestinian terrorist organisations against the civilian population in Israel, I have instructed the IDF (military) to intensify operations to thwart terrorism in the Tulkarem refugee camp and in all the refugee camps in Judea and Samaria," Katz said in a statement.
